Alan HeiserAfter finishing university, Alan worked in Japan
with a number of businesses prior to returning to Australia and studying to become a Chartered Accountant. He began his own practice in 1979 specialising in Taxation and Business Services. Realising that without profitabiltity, businesses were not paying tax and didn't need tax advice as much as help with profitability and creating value in their business. Consequently he moved his focus to making his business clients better off at the close of the financial year than they were at the beginning of that year. That may have involved them in paying more tax, but this is just another business expense that Alan helped manage. In 1993 Alan left accountancy to begin a niche market catering company where he put all his business management skills into practice. The company grew its sales in the Site Catering field to become the largest caterer in the niche and won Restaurant and Catering Association Site Caterer and Caterer of The Year in 2000. The systems and procedures that Alan put in place enabled it to continue winning awards long after he sold it in 2000 and those systems are still in place today. Alan then moved into the construction industry where he guided companies through the problems of growth and change, and particularly in adding value to the business through control of cash management and human resources. Alan's focus is now on delivering solutions for small business owners who face the challenges of change and growth in their business. |
